OK everyone knows about David Bowie, I don't need to write a thing. This post is all about Geeling anyhow.

It is the second week of TV One's "Dancing With The Stars" competition and the first elimination for the series. Geeling Ng's first dance last week was somewhat stiff and she and her dancing partner Brian Jones scored badly, last night they did better but too late.

However she will always be famous in New Zealand because... New Zealand born Geeling Ng is the "China Girl" in David Bowie's music video.

She was modeling in Sydney, Australia (she featured in "French Vogue" and appeared in "Mad Max 2 - Beyond Thunderdome"), when she auditioned for David Bowie's 1983 video which was filmed in Sydney. (watch out for the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge)

I cannot remember why David Bowie was in Sydney of all places, does anyone else have any idea?

Anyhow, the controversial music clip featured the couple lying naked in the surf and despite being banned from some stations, ( not here) it won the MTV music video award for the year.

After filming the video Geeling joined David on an international tour, then returned to New Zealand where she landed a part in the 'eighties television soap/drama Gloss.

In more recent years Geeling has worked as a restaurant manager and as a studio manager at South Pacific Pictures.

In 2007 she ran in the New York Marathon. She hosts the cooking segment for TV One's "Asia Downunder" and is operations manager at Soul Bar & Bistro in Auckland's Viaduct and she is still just as beautiful as she was in 1983.
